Patient Services: Register for Online Services

Enjoy the convenience of GP online services with the ability to interact with your GP practice at any time of the day or night, wherever you are. Using the Patient Services website on your computer or mobile, you can:

  • book and cancel appointments
  • You can register to book appointments using a quick and simple online process.

Completing the full registration process later opens up access to all online services.

Appointments

 Routine Appointments:

  • All requests for an appointment will be telephone triaged in the first instance by a GP or Practice Nurse. Telephone triage is from 08:30 to 10:00 daily to the appointments or enquiries line. There is a limited number of triage slots daily so please contact as early as possible.

Medical Emergencies:

  • For emergencies Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 17:30 please telephone the practice on 028 9331 5834. Emergency requests will be given immediate attention by the receptionist and the doctor will be informed. Please do NOT misuse this line which must be kept free to deal with patients in need of emergency medical help! The misuse of this emergency number can put genuine patients at risk and if you call this number for a non-emergency enquiry you will be requested to call back on an appropriate enquiry number.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

Telephone Advice

If you wish to speak to the doctor by telephone you should telephone the enquiry line on 028 9331 5955 or the appointment line on 028 9331 5835 from 08:30 to 10:00 any morning. If necessary reception staff will pass the request to the on-call doctor. The doctor will then decide on what further action needs to be taken. If you feel your enquiry is urgent, please contact on either number and a doctor will assess your needs.

Interpreter Services

Any patient who wishes to have an interpreter present during a consultation should advise the practice at the time of making the appointment. Providing we receive sufficient notice the practice will gladly make the necessary arrangements with the Regional Interpreting Service.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason it is important to inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can do this by:

  • or if you are registered with Patient Services, you can cancel online (click the button above, ‘Online Services’)

The Practice has implemented a more rigorous DNA policy and frequent offenders will eventually be removed from the Practice list. Please click on link for full details of policy.

IMPORTANT PATIENT NOTICE:

Due to our current clinical system provider ceasing to operate, Scotch Quarter Practice will move to a new computer system from Friday 5th December 2025. This will impact on services we can provide between 5th December  to 12th December.

  • Emergency Only Service Friday 5th December to Wednesday 10th December
  • Limited Appointments Thursday 11th December to Friday 12th December

If you have a prescription due between these dates you MUST order no later than 3rd December 2025. The practice will have no facility to process prescriptions until after the installation of our new system. If you are an online user you will receive an email notification from [email protected] on how to register for the new online system once fully operational – (this is not spam). You can continue to use online services until 28th November 2025. We have currently ceased new applications for online services.
